Due to its unique creation, there are many strange pokemon wandering around the Airore region. To make matters worse, Team Chaos has been fiddling with the genetics of normal pokemon, and their creations have added even more variety to the gene pool.
Pokemorph
A pokemorph is a human whose DNA has been mixed with that of a pokemon. They were created with the trans-dimensional creation of the region, and are an accepted part of society at large. Most pokemorphs receive their unique DNA from their parents, although there is a black market for morphing drugs.
Pokemorphs are simply pokemon like in appearance. They do not evolve, nor do they do not have pokemon attacks. Any abilities they have from their pokemon DNA are physical, like a Swellow-morph being able to fly using his wings or an Absol-morph staying warm in cold climates because of the white fur that grows all over her body.
Albino Pokemon
Albino pokemon have become the trademark of Team Chaos. A simple scientific procedure removed the color coding DNA from a pokemon egg, giving the newly hatched pokemon a "pure" coloring. It also eliminates unique markings. The bleaching process also tends to affect the pokemon's personality, making the more docile and obedient, if lack luster in personality. Team Chaos greet new recruits by offering them an albino pokemon.
Rainbow Pokemon
Rainbow is the slang term adopted in reference to pokemon who have unique coloring. This is obtained by introducing particular DNA from another pokemon into the egg before it hatches. If all goes well, the pokemon will adopt the color modifying code and when it hatches, look like the pokemon the DNA was taken from. For example, a Pesian with Liepard spots or a Dragonite that looks like a Nidoqueen. The rainbow procedure is considered unnatural by current society, so the practice takes place in secret and with an expensive cost. The rainbow procedure is also extremely dangerous. There have been documented cases of the pokemon only partially accepting the color change, resulting in a half-rainbow pokemon. Sometimes the pokemon rejects all color coding entirely, resulting in an albino pokemon. About 1 in every 10 rainbow procedures result in fatality, and the egg never hatches.
Spliced Pokemon
The rarest of all pokemon genetic manipulations, splicers are incredibly difficult to create. The scientist has to incorporate physical coding into the DNA of the pokemon egg without disrupting the rest of the viable code. When done correctly, the procedure creates unique pokemon, such as a ponyta with pidgeot wings. However, the specimens are always infertile and unable to evolve. Splicing also has a high fatality rate. This most experimental of genetic branches is not only frowned upon, but illegal. Splicers can be found, but it will take a lot of digging and rubbing elbows with shady types to find them.
